The Talking Colors

The spiritual battle depicted through the colours in Ulrich’s art is a rhythmic and vibrant representation, subtly and lyrically wooing hope. Seldomly you come across an artist whose art interprets the battle of colours in a radiating symphony.

Ulrich Krammer is an Austrian based tattoo artist and also does canvas art in his spare time. Looking at his art, three colours speak volumes in his created pieces. The warmness of the orange, the luminosity of the yellow, and the paradoxical red, all playing their roles in his masterpieces. The wrestling of these three colours depicts a strong emotional content in the art Ulrich produces.

There is a perfect blend of sensitivity and anarchy in Ulrich’s crafted work. His art is not only demoing the worldly desires that the humans urge but also limns the hope that one craves for. There is a reverent figure that he depicts through the one eye in his artistic influence and the subject always looks up to it, seeking grounds for feeling hopeful about the future.

Paul Gauguin was a French post-impressionist artist and was known for his experimental use of colour and synthetist style. In one of his paintings, Vision After The Sermon, “Jacob wrestles with the angel in a blood-red field of spiritual battle, an apt metaphor for his internal struggle against the will of God.”

Ulrich’s philosophy is not that different, except that he is struggling to fight against the dark side of humans. His storytelling through his art draws you in as it unfolds the “repressed but palpable fear” that the artist condemningly feels. Émile Zola once said, “If you ask me what I came to do in this world, I, an artist, will answer you: I am here to live out loud.”

Ulrich is living out loud through his depiction of art, challenging the materialistic desires that people crave and visually stimulating the emotions that he feels –wanting the world to be in peace.

Ulrich Krammer effortlessly inspires you to think that it’s not hard to be a human as we have made it be. The immersion of spirituality in his art yearning for hope is an intimacy of the portrayal of real-life observation. He injects ink into the skin which enlivens your numb soul to take a stand against the evil and his canvases taps into your subconscious to nurture your humbleness and sincerity.

Bravo to the man, who thinks and draws with such zen and gusto whilst remarkably capturing his subject matter with ease and grace.
